First things first. This mellow medley marks the end of the normal “rock and roll” medleys (although today’s mix is more folk than rock) for a couple of weeks as we will begin Christmas music tomorrow.
Several people have written to tell me they want Mellow Sunday back and I’m reasonably sure (hopeful) today’s medley qualifies as “calm”.
By the way, the Gene Clark song below is the one song Bob Dylan said he wished he had written. That is high praise!
I’ve said this before but in case you didn’t know, I’m more than happy to put together a medley of your favorite 6-10 oldies from the 50s, 60s and 70s, All you need to do is send me an email (at Raylemire@aol.com) and I’ll get right on it. 🙂

Sunday’s Calm Medley
Gerry Rafferty – Gene Clark
Jim Croce – Roger Miller – Tom Petty
Harry Chapin – John Denver
Up early this morning and loved seeing your post. Mellow is so good these days as there’s really not much mellow in the world right now. I truly feel music feeds the soul ….Harry Chapin’s song carried such an important message .. and ending with John Denver was perfect … so thankful for all the work you put into these – can’t say it enough Ray. Rock the Day my friend …
Barbara, thank you so much. 🙂
Harry Chapin’s message is very, very relevant today, and as John Denver said so perfectly in his song, it really is time for us to “find a better way.”
Time for a shameless “plug”. If you believe in the wisdom and joy of Santa Claus, I ask you to please listen tomorrow.
ROCK THE DAY!
AHHHHHHH! Loved it! It kept me in my seat focused on just enjoying the feeling of being relaxed to the max. So needed and always appreciated. You take good care of us! XOXOXOXO
Thank you, Wendyl ❤️
I thought it was a good idea to get away from all the negativity and rush of the holiday season for just a few moments.
I’m so glad you enjoyed it. 🙂
XOXOXOXO
p.s. Santa will be telling his secret tomorrow. 😉
This one is going on my favorites list! I have to admit i didn’t recognize the first two. But then came Jim, Roger, Tom, Harry and John. Every song moving and gentle. Harry’s warning still goes unheeded in our crazy too busy life’s. John always takes us home to the mountains and Mother Earth…a simpler better life.
Thank you for once again moving my soul with music.
Thanks, Donna.
The first two are personal favorites. Gerry Rafferty’s main claim to fame was ‘Baker Street’ and Gene Clark was the former lead singer with the Byrds.
I’m very happy you enjoyed the mix. 🙂
