There Is No Theme

I started working on a themed medley when it suddenly occurred to me that there doesn’t have to be a specific theme every single day.

And so today there isn’t one. It’s just a collection of rock and roll songs that should get you moving. 🙂

My guess is that you really enjoyed putting together today’s set. The freedom of picking any song you like, just because you feel like it. I’m sure it was liberating. What a great mix, all my favorites. First off, Rare Earth! When was the last time anyone thought of them? I think most people assume that was a Sly & The Family Stone tune.
The Byrds without a doubt are the foremost interpretators of Bob Dylan. They did a fine job with this one.
Mott The Hoople, what a fine group. They made some amazing music. Ian Hunter still tours at age 80! And he is still releasing original music! He is a great artist.
I like the” Treasure” reference in your post. Nice work again today, Ray. Thank you for getting me off to a good start today.
Still sending those Good Vibrations your way.

      Thanks, Bro 🙂
It was very liberating to just go through the files and pick songs at random. In fact it felt so good I’ve done the same thing for tomorrow’s medley!
I know two people (for sure) who will remember Rare Earth … Marty and Karen Morse!
The bad part of being the best Bob Dylan interpreters was the fact the Byrds quickly developed a reputation of living off Mr. Dylan’s work. It never bothered me because, as you said, they did it so well.
I have always been a fan of Mott (and Ian Hunter in particular).
I have appreciated the good vibes you’ve been sending and I know Wendy does, too.
      ROCK ON, BRO!

I’m sorry to say there actually is a theme to this medley….”Awesome Music Young Wendy Loved Listening To With Her Daddy And Still Enjoys To This Day”….but wait, that could apply to all of your medleys. This was exactly what I needed today! (Though I didn’t see it on your FB page…are you trying to keep me from catching up? NEVER! 🙂 ) XOXOXOXO

      Thank you, Wendyl ❤️
The fact that it’s not showing up on my Facebook page comes as no surprise. I have no idea why it happens, but such is life. Fortunately, a lot of people visit the page without any prompting on FB.
As for the medley, I’m always happy that you enjoy it AND that these songs hold many memories of the “old days” when I bombarded you with all of my favorites.
Keep your chin up, sweetheart. Things will get better. I promise.
      XOXOXOXO
