Thanksgiving leftovers are probably on your food menu today and I also hope you’re in the mood for some tasty musical memories.
Once again I am returning to a few of the songs I didn’t get around to last month when I played the biggest hits of 1967 and 1968.
The great thing about playing music from the Sixties is you never run out of memories … or leftovers!

Another Leftovers Medley
Tommy James & The Shondells – The Doors
O.C. Smith – The Grass Roots
Sly & The Family Stone – The Who
If these are the leftovers that must have been quite a meal! Everyone here knows how to make a “joyful noise”. These are real energy brokers. Tommy James, Grass Roots & Sly all really bring it to the party.
The Doors first album was a true game changer. Light My Fire was so long and had so much excitement packed into the grooves it was unbelievable. I remember playing that album over and over. I think if you held it up to the light you could see right through it! I still love it.
Sly acted like a crazy man, well turns out he was crazy, it wasn’t an act. He owned the entire stage when he performed. Quite the showman.
I Can See For Miles is my favorite Who song. I haven’t heard it in a while, it was good to hear it again.
Thanks Ray for a first rate set. Have a good weekend.
Don, there are still so many delicacies I have yet to play from the Sixties. The entire decade was a musical banquet!
By the way, I Can See For Miles was the highest charting single (#9) The Who ever had in the U.S.
ROCK ON, BRO!
Usually, leftovers cause me to be tired which makes pre-Christmas decorating cleaning difficult to complete. But not these leftovers! Thanks for the boost while I clean my roost! 🙂 (The Sixties were a banquet, indeed! XOXOXOXO
Thanks, Wendyl ❤️
I was going for a high energy mix so I’m glad it helped!
XOXOXOXO
I love leftovers and these won’t add a pound! I think there must be a special place in heaven for 60s music….if so I am going to find it and never leave! Course that is assuming..,
Thanks as always for taking me back in time.
I think your “future” is safe, Donna. 🙂
Some good leftovers, and no calories!!
Thanks, Pat. The best kind of leftovers are calorie free! 🙂
Really enjoyed the “leftovers” Ray. Had not heard anything from the Grassroots in a very long time.
Don’t have anything from them in our vinyl collection. Hoping you had a good holiday and we are wishing you and your family a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year my friend!
Thanks, Marty and Karen.
So glad you enjoyed the “meal” 🙂
I’m wishing both of you a very Merry Christmas and here’s hoping 2021 makes up for the disaster 2020 has been.
