An Arlo Thanksgiving!

It’s a different kind of medley today because you know it just isn’t Thanksgiving without hearing this song; this time in video form with brilliant animation by Andrew Colunga.

I hope you all have a Thanksgiving dinner that can’t be beat, then go to sleep and not get up until the next morning.

Helpful Tip: While watching the video, clicking the “CC” button at the bottom of the video screen will display all of the lyrics. 🙂

Just like the mailman, “Neither rain nor snow nor dark of night…” Wait a minute that doesn’t work anymore, you are lucky to get mail 3 times a week now. You are more like the newspaper boy, we had to work 363 days a year. We only got 2 days a year off, July 4 & Christmas Day. Thanksgiving was the biggest paper of the year. Bigger than the Sunday paper! It was a heavy, busy day! I get tired just thinking about it.
At any rate, you are working today. I thank you., Arlo thanks you, we all thank you for starting the day with a piece of music history. Nice touch with the addition of the cartoon, it was fun.
I hope you are able to spend the day relaxing and enjoying the company of your loved ones.
I will leave you with my grandfather’s special Thanksgiving Day meal instructions, “ sit 3 inches from the edge of the table and eat until you touch!”

Thank you, Don. Oh, I remember those early morning newspaper deliveries, especially the days with heavy snowstorms and freezing temperatures. Those were the worst but yeah, the Thanksgiving edition with all of the sales inserts, was brutal.
When I was the morning guy on the radio, I played Arlo three times on Thanksgiving … 6:00 and 9:00 and then programmed it to run again at Noon.
I will spend the rest of the day relaxing. I can do that because I was up at my usual time of 2:30 and prepared tomorrow’s medley and started on Sunday’s.
I literally laughed out loud when I read your grandfather’s words of advice. He was a very wise man.
I wish you and yours a blessed day of peace and contentment.
      Happy Thanksgiving!

I figured you would like the advice of another New Englander, he was from Boston. Funny guy.

Happy Thanksgiving, Daddy! I’ll give you a call in a few.

      Thanksgiving isn’t Thanksgiving without Arlo!
Sadly it won’t feel like Thanksgiving without you here but it’s 2020 and not much has gone right.
      Love you, sweetheart ❤️
      XOXOXOXO

Thank you Ray, this was a favourite of my brother, on his last Thanksgiving we sang it with him on Face Time. Bittersweet memories like so many other people are experiencing. Bless you and yours this day and everyday.

Thank you, Donna. It has been a year filled with bittersweet memories. I hope in some small way the memory of singing that song with your brother put at least a little joy in your heart.
      God Bless You.
