A Medley For Dawn

Different songs mean different things. Each song brings back specific memories of where you were or who you were with when you first heard it.

As an example, every single time I hear Pictures of Matchstick Men by Status Quo, my mind takes me back to Brando’s Pizza in North Springfield, VT because that’s where I was headed when I first heard the song.

Dawn says each song in this medley brings back specific memories for her; each one of them heartwarming for different and personal reasons.

Turned off the TV and all news feeds and throughly enjoyed the medley this morning. Taking our dog for a long walk and enjoy the late Indian summer we are having. Time to disconnect from all the disgusting political rhetoric and appreciate what is right in front of us! This morning’s medley has certainly help to clear our heads!
    Thank you Ray (and Dawn)

      Thanks Marty and Karen…
Last night was the first time I didn’t watch election results in the past 50 years. I simply couldn’t imagine listening to the talking heads for 4-5 hours. All I know is I did my part by voting and now I’m moving on.
I am so glad you enjoyed the medley and I’m even more pleased that it helped block out the political noise!

Dawn, thank you for bringing up some nice memories, with the able assistance of Ray of course.
CCR took me back to my honeymoon in NYC. My wife is a talented seamstress and we wound up in a giant Singer sewing store near or on Times Square. She was in Heaven, digging through mountains of material and tons of pattern books. I was a bit bored so I started to wander. I was shocked to find a rack of new release record albums, all deeply discounted. I scored the first CCR, Monkees & Hendricks. Suddenly I loved sewing stores.
When Maggie May came out I was painting a house as a summer job and spending my time on a ladder two stories up painting windows. Have you ever tried tapping your toes on a ladder 20 feet up in the air?
This is running long, as usual, so I will sign off noe. Thanks again, Dawn, you too Ray.

      Thanks, Don.
I am always fascinated by your memories and how they are connected to certain songs and artists. More to the point, I am just plain fascinated by your life! You have lived a very good one. 🙂

SO much political noise….I much preferred this medley! Thank you to Dawn and to you for taking the time to read our requests and put them together! You and your listeners are making the world a better place one medley at a time.

      Thank you, Wendyl ❤️
I’d rather listen to an uninterrupted hour of Quiet Riot than listen to the “experts” in the media. As I said to Marty today, I did my part by voting and now I have moved on to concentrating on music and history. It helps to keep me sane. 🙂
      XOXOXOXO

Thank you Dawn and Ray for providing such a wonderful distraction from current events. Sing really loud….it drowns out everything.

      Thank you, Donna.
I’m not sure all the singing in the world can drown out the noise across America tonight.
