1965 Vintage Medley / Part 5

The six #1 songs in today’s medley takes us from October 2 through December 31 on the Billboard Hot 100 for 1965, meaning we’ve played every one of that year’s 27 chart toppers (in chronological order) this week!
But if you think that means it’s the end of songs from that fabulous year, well, you could not possibly be more wrong!
Tomorrow we’ll be playing a long medley of songs that climbed into the Top 10 that year. Four of them peaked at #2 and another five reached #3.
Yeah, 1965 was THE year!

A lot of memories today, Ray. Great songs except one. “Get offa my Cloud” makes me cringe, even 55 years later. Two Freshmen, who lived across the hall from me, blared that song, night & day for months. Can’t stand it even now. LOL

      Thanks, Pat πŸ™‚
Confidentially, I have never liked that song. In fact, I can count on one hand the number of Rolling Stones song I do like.
I’m glad the rest brought back more pleasant memories.
      KEEP ON BEING YOU!

Ray you knew Sloopy lived on the bad part of town and he had a shadow hanging over him!! It was just like yesterday you said come on Sloopy you can shake it! At first he said “Ray get off my cloud” but it’s like he heard a symphony and his telephone was ringing, it was me!! I told him it was just an easy game you were playing!! He said Fred this is for the byrds I’m going back to rolling stones!! Ray what did he mean this dance was going to be a drag?? Ah-mmm!!!

Another look back at ’65 with each song carrying memories. Only wish the Dave Clark Five had lasted a bit longer – I think the Beatles were a tough act to follow and they (Beatles) were on fire! Looking forward to tomorrow’s segment – 12 more songs that I’m sure will carry with them more great memories. Thanks Ray – Hope you are out there Rocking this gorgeous Day!

      Thanks, Barbara πŸ™‚
I think it was tough for a lot of bands to follow the Beatles. They were so far ahead of their time.
Tomorrow will be a fitting finale for a wonderful year in music!
      ROCK THE DAY EVENING!

Another day of wicked awesome music from the greatest decade of music. Yesterday is a classic and always will be. I kinda liked Get offa My Cloud. lol. Ahhh the sweet sound of the Supremes. I wasn’t a huge fan but some songs live on like a symphony. To every thing, straight from the Bible…so basic, so true, and we all pass through so many seasons in our lives. Peace I pray it’s not too late. Sometimes dances are drags and other times, the love bug bites and alas it turned out to be a drag.
As I write this I hope you are recovering quickly and painlessly and the prognosis is perfection!
