Vintage 1967 Medley / Part 3

In 1967, there was a lot of love in the air (and on the radio airwaves) but there was also a hint of trouble brewing in the streets.
All of the songs in today’s medley reached the Top 10 and in reality should have gone even higher. As I said yesterday, there were so many good songs in 1967 that reaching the coveted top spot on the Billboard Hot 100 was no easy task.
I have added the highest Billboard chart position in parentheses beside their names below.

I can only imagine how incredible it was to be a teenager during the 60s. I appreciate the tunes and recollections! Keep ’em coming! XOXOXOXO

What a field day for the heat! I feel it in my fingers, I feel it in my toes. My place, it’s low rent, but keeping out the heat’s hard! People aren’t cooking inside so there’s charcoal burning everywhere. Some people can’t relate, particularly those of you who are European residents. Above average temperatures all across the nation, such a strange vibration. But nothing to get hung about, autumn is right around the corner.

      Thanks, Wendyl. πŸ™‚
Growing up in the 60s was an incredible experience, including the wonderful music. I wouldn’t trade those memories for anything.
Now then, let’s address your latest “connection” …
How do you do such an amazing job every single day? They just keep getting better and better.
Asked to explain what he meant in the line “No one, I think, is in my tree, I mean it must be high or low,” John Lennon said “What I was trying to say was, ‘Nobody seems to be as hip as me, therefore I must be crazy or a genius.'”
Well, sweetheart, No, one, I think is in YOUR tree … and you aren’t crazy!
      XOXOXOXO

I love that quote from John πŸ™‚ So first, I listen and enjoy the medley. Then I get the lyrics from each song, read through them and see if I can somehow connect them. Sometimes it’s clear and other times, like today, I went back to the drawing board and then it all came together.

P.S. You aren’t crazy either! XOXOXOXO

I don’t want this year to end! Amazing how some of them sound so relevant to today. Sad that San Francisco isn’t as beautiful as it used to be. Still the music makes you want to go there.

Thank you, Ray as always I love the walk down memory lane.

      Thank you, Donna. πŸ™‚
The problem with keeping the medleys to about 20 minutes in length is I run out of days to fit all of the deserving songs in. There are so many 1967 tunes that will be skipped. I know I could make the medleys longer but I realize people have other things to do and I don’t want to drive them crazy.
I may have to revisit ’67 in the near future and play the rest.
      Have A Great Afternoon!
