A Summer Music Mix

I’m supposed to be on vacation. Hell, I’m supposed to be retired! You all know by now that the latter won’t happen until I take my last breath – and that doesn’t appear to be happening anytime soon – but it is time for me to spread these musical medleys out just a bit so I can enjoy a little of the summer.
With that in mind, I woke up yesterday morning and created a monster medley for Friday but when it came time to put something together for today, I went blank (that happens a lot, by the way) so I’m taking the easy (lazy) way out by repeating a 20-song medley of summer songs that was first posted four years ago.
It features Billy Stewart, The Beach Boys, Gary Lewis & The Playboys, Jan & Dean, Lovin’ Spoonful, Seals & Crofts, Sheryl Crow, Johnny Rivers, Chicago, Sly & The Family Stone, Bryan Adams, Jimmy Buffett, Katrina & The Waves, Chad & Jeremy, and a closing song by Status Quo which is actually more of a love song than summer specific, but it mentions “margarita time” and “summer time”. It’s upbeat and bouncy and … oh hell, no excuses, I love it so I threw it in! πŸ™‚

I will be missing on Wednesday but I promise to be back on Thursday with something new (and of course there’s that long Fab(ulous) πŸ˜‰ medley coming on Friday).
Stay Cool!

I’m so glad you decided not to retire …. we all benefit from your work and the music and history you share makes every day better … and glad you plan to be here for a while as you make the world a better place!

Thanks for reminding us there is great music out there that makes us all feel a bit better no matter what …. hope you have a good day tomorrow – will look forward to what you have in store for Thursday – and will be ready with two cups of coffee Friday! Rock the Day!

      Thank you, Barbara.
Retirement would have driven me crazy. πŸ˜‰
      Rock The Day!

Loved this, even if it was a repeat. Only missing one great summer song: “Roll Out Those Lazy, Hazy, Crazy Days Of Summer”.(I probably pointed this out to you the first time you played it)LOL

      Thank you, Pat.
No, you didn’t point it out the first time (but you should have). LOL πŸ™‚
It does belong in that mix.

Again a wonderful β€œblast from the past”! Summers were so much fun then.

I have heard it said β€œIf you work at something you love, then you will never work a day in your life.” Or something like that. So I say you are one of the lucky ones…and we benefit from your passion! When and if it ever becomes a chore, then you can retire with pride!

Thank you. For keeping the music alive.

      Thank you, Donna.
It is true that the “work” I do really doesn’t feel like a burdensome chore.
I think it helps to keep me feeling young, or at least younger. πŸ™‚
I appreciate your very, very kind words.

Guess I missed this medley the first time around. Sure enjoyed it today.
Why don’t you take tomorrow off Ray? Expecting something really good on Friday!
Thanks for all β€œwork” you do to educate and entertain us my friend.

Thanks, Marty. I am taking tomorrow off but I’ll be back on Thursday. πŸ™‚
Oh, and speaking of Friday, a preview, if you will. If you don’t enjoy the Beatles, don’t bother checking it out. πŸ˜‰
