MY Soundtrack … 1969

“Live your truth. Express your love. Share your enthusiasm. Take action towards your dreams. Walk your talk. Dance and sing to your music. Embrace your blessings. Make today worth remembering.”
~ Steve Maraboli

Today marks the end of a look back at the soundtrack of my teenage life … because it was the end of my teenage years.
When the year started I was living in Los Angeles, watching barefoot girls dancing in the moonlight. When the year ended, I was in San Antonio as an Air Force recruit, thinking about war, children, it was just a shot away.
In between, I heard a lot of great music, including some songs I’ve included here you may have never heard (but that was your fault, not mine.) 🙂
From mongrel pianos, salty dogs, burnin’ heartaches, and a Bally table king to discovering the wonder of Stevie, ruby throated sparrows, and smiling on your brother (and a lot more), this is the music that was in my head.

Hi Barb … Things did change in a hurry. The age of innocence was over and was replaced by the reality of an apocalyptic world. I ended the medley with ‘Gimme Shelter‘ for that very reason.

Loved them all….and you and Barb said it all. We were all so lucky to grow up in that time.

If you enjoy it half as much as I did while putting it together, Jane, then we’re both happy! 🙂

Hes the pinball wizard, never seen him fall. When I left my home and family, I was no more than a boy. I am yours and you are mine, don’t want to leave her now because all I have to do is think of her. Your the only girl my heart beats for, leaving your name at the door, breaking my favorite egg. Let me remember things I love, walkin’ along the river road at night, Walk but you’ll never get away. A sand so white, and sea so blue, it was too late She didn’t know what she was headed for. Livin’, lovin’, she’s just a woman, nobody hears a single word you say.. Love is but a song to sing, come on people now, smile on your brother, try to love one another right now. Oh, a storm is threat’ning If I don’t get some shelter, it’s just a shot away.
