1965 Was Special

I was looking at some of the old medleys I had previously posted and came across this one. This one from 1965 proves that year was part of an era when music was really music!

Where to even begin? Senior year in HS is a busy, emotional and turbulent year but for me the music sure helped to get me through it. It always amazes me when I look, listen, to the music of the era. You could hear all of these songs on the same radio station. The eclectic nature of the music is the magic element for me. Soon every style would be broken down in to a specific category and you would have to twist the dial all day to hear the songs in this playlist. Sad that the powers that be worked so hard to divide us, when we were so blissfully happy reveling in the pure joy of a great diverse mess that was, is, our music.
Once again Ray you have managed to help us drift back to a time when the music transported its listeners to a space of pure joy. You have given us a wonderful gift with these selections today. Thank you very much Ray for taking the time and care to present this carefully crafted slice of our formative years. You’re the BEST Ray!

I originally posted it three years ago. That’s what I have been doing this week; playing a few of the older medleys. Maybe it’s just me being lazy! πŸ˜‰
