Let’s listen to songs connected to this date on the calendar. Today’s medley, shorter than most, features the first single by a Canadian band, a big hit by a British group, and two songs from the Fifties. I put these songs in chronological order so don’t be fooled when the last two come later than the first two.
The reason is simple. Both of those “real oldies” (from 1958 and 1954, respectively) are being played because two members of the bands that recorded them both died on January 16th.
