Let’s see if any of the songs in this 27-minute medley bring back a memory or two (and who knows, maybe more)!

Stuck In The 50s Medley
Bobby Vee – Paul Anka – Pat Boone – Frankie Avalon
Bobby Vinton – Kingston Trio – Bobby Darin – Flamingos
Brook Benton – Johnny Mathis
Love it so….music from my junior/senior high school years(55-61). Even liked Pat Boone’s piece(one had to like either Elvis or Pat-I of course liked Elvis.) Can recall my first kiss and…Thanks Bud.
I’m glad it brought back some nice memories for you, Coach π
The MTA. As a freshman in high school(1958),I did a paper about the rise of liberalism in the 30’s using Charlie’s plight as my anchor.Later, I used Mackie as a character in an Italian opera).(1959? song of the year). I could go on and on…
Memories…
Wonderful in the first 3 minutes…. hooked for sure.
So glad it hooked you π
Love the fifties & early sixties music. Glad you are posting medleys again. Oh to be that young & innocent again. Thanks, Ray.
Pat, thank you for the nice words but I like to think we are still young, at least in spirit. π
Great to wake up to this music on this dreary, rainy day. Thanks again, Ray.
I am always pleased when I can make you smile, Pat. π
Perfect music I have had to sit and listen this time broken bone in my foot! This made my day Thanks Ray
Susan … I am so sorry about your foot. I hope you’re up and about very soon. π
You canβt not love this music! These days there is so much noise itβs nice to have soft reminders of when the our lives seemed simpler.
Music soothes the savage beast.
Thanks Ray for soothing my beast today.
Thanks, Donna … but the thanks goes to Pat Conant for posting it on my page from her FB Memories. π
Oh Ray I agree it is great to see memories are back …. as they are great music, comfort in these times, and a look back at a time when we were innocent free spirits. Just scrolling throught the comments is fun. What a great way to start the day … and I agree my body may show signs of wear but in my brain and in my heart I’m still young. Take care my friend and Rock this and every Day!
Thank you, Barbara. π
Sometimes when I listen to these tunes, I close my eyes and suddenly I’m back in my ’58 Chevy, driving through Springfield.
Yes indeed, you ARE still young!
ROCK THE DAY!
Ray, Ya know? Music was always playing in our household from as far back as I can remember. It is amazing how I can recall each and everyone of these tunes just as clearly as the 60’s. Music has shaped our lives in so many ways… and keeps us young at heart when we hear those old favorites. Thank you for that! Keep bringing us back please~~~
Thank you, Suzanne π
Music was certainly blasting in my parent’s house, and most of it was blasting from my bedroom … much to my father’s anguish. π
I’ll continue to keep those memories alive as long as people want to hear them.
Ray you did it again! It is so fun to listen to the songs in the morning itβs just become part of my regular routine now again! But then who doesnβt love Bobby Darren and Pat Boone and the flamingos , Bobby Vee, Bobby Vinton! And on and on. Always selected carefully to please the audience. So happy to be a recipient, and to have someone pick out those songs for me is so gratifying. Rock on baby!!
Thank you, Sandy, but I hope you did more than just listen. I hope you sang along … loud! π
ROCK THE DAY!
So much fun to hear these songs this morning Ray. Thanks so much.
Thank you, Jane. I’m very happy the songs make your mornings a little bit brighter. π
How can you not love the 50’s!! Sure made my day!!
Thanks, Fred.
Those songs bring back a lot of memories. We sure grew in a great era.
ROCK ON, BROTHER!
Love it!! Takes my mind off my issues for a minute!! Don’t know what I would do without music … LOL
Again, YOU ROCK as always!!!
Thank you, Penny π
Music, and the memories they hold for us, makes every day a better day.
I’m not going anywhere so you can count on them continuing! β€οΈ
ROCK THE DAY!
Thought to myself I wonder how many of these I will remember? When I heard the Kingston Trio it was evident I am going to remember all of these songs well! Guessing I may not be alone in saying my short term memory is definitely not as sharp as my long term memory!! Hahaha
Marty, thanks for the comments. π
As for memory, I often forget what I had for breakfast!
By the way, you are as sharp as a tack!
To be honest, I feel these songs were just a little bit before I became crazy about music. I donβt really have these songs in my collection but hearing them now is like a comfortable pair of old slippers. Nice & comforting. Like old friends you havenβt seen in years, you didnβt really miss them but it sure is nice to see them again.
That being said, if I hear Mack the Knife one more time I think my head might explode!
Good job again today Ray. Thank you.
Thanks, Don
AS I type this, I’m singing “Mack” in my head…
Oh, the shark, babe, has such teeth, dear
And it shows them pearly white
Just a jackknife has old MacHeath, babe
And he keeps it, ah, out of sight
There, that was just for you because I love ya! π
I am speechless.
