1967 Vintage Medley / Part 4
1967 was a lot more than male artists climbing up the Billboard charts. It was also the year women left their mark.
Lulu scored with her song from a Sidney Poitier film and Petula Clark climbed high with a song written by actor Charlie Chaplin.
Linda Ronstadt & The Stone Poneys had a hit with a Mike Nesmith song, while Elaine “Spanky” McFarlane (and her gang) made their debut.
Diana Ross & The Supremes continued their chart success and so did Martha & The Vandellas, but it was Aretha Franklin who stood out as the greatest female artist of 1967 … and you must know which song is coming.
