Before anyone tries to tell me songs from 1973 are too “new,” I’ll remind you that music is 49 years old. They most definitely are oldies!

One thing that changed in the Seventies was the fact singles were much longer than they had been in the Sixties. Yesterday I played eight songs from 1961 and the medley lasted 18 minutes. Today I’m playing seven songs from 1973 and the medley lasts just under 28 minutes.

Rock Factoid: Even though they had split three years earlier, all four members of The Beatles were still producing hit songs. Ringo, Paul and George all had #1 songs, while John reached #18 with his single.
