Speechless (Finally)
Enough, Enough, Enough! Democracy is priceless, but let’s face it. Money talks and this year, it talks very loudly.
Not only have candidates in the Presidential, Senate and House campaigns talked and talked until our ears almost bled, the amount of money they have spent is revolting.
Twenty-three states this cycle have seen more than $100 million spent, but one state tops them all: Pennsylvania. That state has been a political hotbed. In addition to the presidential campaign, which has dumped in $576 million in ads, there are also competitive Senate and House races in the state. The Senate contest has seen $344 million, and that’s not even the most money spent on a Senate race. That “honor” belongs to Ohio, where about $518 million in ads have run.
So yes, enough is enough. I’m bringing you a medley to hopefully bring you a little peace of mind: A medley with no words, just selected instrumentals, all of them easily recognized.
The tenth song, to be completely honest, does begin with a very familiar two word shout out, but other than that, it’s music and nothing but music. Since I am remaining quiet throughout, let me say it here.
Peace, Love, Happiness, and anything else your hearts desire.
I promise there are no political ads included.
