In the entire 12-year history of Streamingoldies, I have created a medley this long only one other time; Elvis Presley. But when I asked for song suggestions for Tom Petty’s part in the look back at musical artists we lost in 2017, the responses, quite frankly, floored me.There were so many, in fact, that I decided to break the “one song per artist” rule, and I am breaking it in a big way … with 25 of them.
There are his songs with the Heartbreakers, a selection from his role in the Traveling Wilburys, and of course, his solo material. To say his passing was a major loss is an understatement of epic proportion. The music in this 97-minute tribute only scratches the surface.
