On November 3, 1957 (62 years ago today!), Danny & The Juniors released a single that would reach #1 on the Billboard Hot 100.

On November 3, 1958 (61 years ago today!), Lloyd Price released a single that reached #1 on the Billboard Hot 100. The song was first recorded in 1923 by Fred Waring’s Pennsylvanians, and was based on the real life death of William “Billy” Lyons, who was shot and killed by Lee Shelton (nicknamed “Stag Lee” although some sources say it was “Stack Lee”) on Christmas night in 1895.

On November 3, 1979 (40 years ago today!), British musician Robin Scott, along with a group of session musicians he called “M”, topped the Billboard Hot 100 chart with this Techno-Pop dance tune.

On November 3, 1992 (27 years ago today!), Whitney Houston released this song as a single off her ‘The Bodyguard’ soundtrack album. The single spent 14 weeks at the top of the Billboard Hot 100, and holds the record for being the best-selling single by a woman in music history.
Dolly Parton – who wrote the song – reached #1 on the Billboard Hot Country Songs chart with her original version in 1974.

On November 3, 1965 (54 years ago today!), the Beatles recorded this classic love song which appeared on their ‘Rubber Soul ‘ album. Although it was not released as a single in the U.S. or England, it won the Grammy Award for Song of the Year for 1966.
