Pragmatic and versatile, Earl Palmer accepted an eclectic array of studio work. Jazz was his music of choice, but he recorded with a diverse group of pop and rock artists, even though it may not have personally appealed to him. “It was a professional job to me, and like it or not, I took pride in playing it, and I tried to play it, all of it, like it was my favorite.

Today we take another look at a small sample of Earl’s work. Several of these songs may be familiar to you as recordings by Dave Edmunds, the Beatles, Dave Clark Five, or the Swinging Blue Jeans, but these are the original recordings by the original artists.
