Your Requests, Part One!

It’s Friday, but I bet you already know that. What makes this Friday different is the fact I’m playing songs by the artists YOU said you wanted to hear.

Earlier this week, I asked listeners to name one artist they wanted to hear from the 50s, one from the 60s, and one from the 70s. The response was far more wide ranging than I expected. And that’s a good thing, a very good thing.

Today, I begin playing them. Obviously with so many names, I can’t fit them all into this extra long medley, so if your choice(s) aren’t here today, I promise they will be soon. Some artists drew so many votes, they will be played more often than others, but if a singer or a band received just one vote, they will be played.

I loved the Electric Light Orchestra. Hard to believe that “The Last Time” only made it to number 9.
Simon & Garfunkel’s “Bridge Over Troubled Waters” was one of my favorites, (Last name Waters), lots of memories of past loves.

Thank you, Ray. – Listened to this last night while barbecuing for 6 of us. They all loved it as well…spreading the love ❤️!

      Thanks, Jim!
ELO was always underappreciated. It took the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame far too long to induct them.
“Bridge” is quite simply one of the rock era’s most beautiful songs.
Thanks for sharing this with “the six” 🙂
