The Sixties Revolution!

Thursday is the day we go deep into the archives and dig out something we hope you enjoy.

This week it’s another Sixties Revolution, this time from 2011. It’s all about the B-sides of your favorite 45s; the great, the good, and in some cases, the ugly!

Good Morning Ray, Interesting medley today. Ted & I are B-Side ourselves after listening. Think I’ll check the flip side of some of my 45’s in the future. Have a good day. 🙂

      Thanks, Lee & Ted 🥰🥰
I’m glad you found it interesting. I know many of the B-sides in this medley were, um, pretty bad, but thankfully there were a few very good ones.

Good morning! Wow, I had never heard the “B” side of some of these, but had others and liked them, but your right there were a few “Ugly”. And I just loved listening to you explain them all. Have a great day!

      Thanks, Nancy 🥰
It’s pretty bad when my voice is the highlight of the medley! 🤣

what an interesting medley .. most I have never heard and a few I didn’t like (no wonder they were B side). Even though they didn’t cut it, they proved what was good and what was not for some big artists of the times …
Have a wonderful day my friend!!!

      Thanks, Penny 🥰
Admittedly this was not one of the best medleys I have ever done. I’m not even sure why I chose to bring this one back.
      Have a wonderful day!
      XOXO

That Turtles song is probably one of the worst songs that I have heard. I could even do better than that! Thank you for stopping the torture!

As tough as that industry was, the got most of the A-side, B-side choices right.

Perhaps the only way they could get people to listen to those B-side songs was to put them on the back of a truly good A-side song?

Gary Lewis & the Playboys had a pretty good B-side.

Otis Reading’s song went a long way. Hope he received a lot of kickbacks from it. Good song!

Thank you for all of this “B-side” knowledge. Very interesting.

      Thanks, Jim 🥰
Stopping the Turtles wasn’t enough. I shouldn’t have played that particular program at all!

I listened to the entire show …. it was well done! No denying … there is always a “B” Side and the back stories need to be told.
Thanks for putting the time in … I enjoyed it!

      Thank you, Rose 🥰
I appreciate the kind words but I could have done a much better job with this subject. I put too much emphasis on “bad” B-sides and not effort or time into playing “good” B-sides.

Just listed to this and found it to be a bit on the bad side!! Not all b songs were bad but this bunch was interesting!! Good thing you got in and helped out!!
    Love ya

Thanks, Fred, but there is no need to be nice about it. I tried too hard to point out the bad B’s when there were plenty of really good ones I could have (and should have) played.
      Love ya!

Medley redeemed by Green Onions and the BeeGees and Rascals
You were right some of those “B” sides as you said were gawd awful, especially the one you totally trashed.
    Always informative

Thank you, Mary Helen, but there really was noting very redeeming about this particular program. I can freely admit I never should have rebroadcast it.
