FriYay Dance Party!

Sorry, no history info today. Sometimes it’s too easy to get sidetracked by digging up historical stuff and quite often, I wind up playing music that isn’t always well received.A song may have been recorded or released on this date but that doesn’t mean everyone liked it.

So today it’s all about songs from the past that people did enjoy, and yes, that includes a song from 1985 because after all, that makes that tune 38 years old and therefore an “oldie” and yep, it was a major hit.

This may be a dance party but that doesn’t mean all of these songs are rockers. There’s a few “slow dance” songs included to balance things out. 🙂

    Thanks Ray 🙂 🙂 Lee & Ted
Ted & I were married in 1985. I thought that Dire Straits probably had the song from that year but Ted was right 🙂 Have a good weekend.

At this point it’s important to celebrate our glory days and what better way then through the music of our earlier lives?

You absolutely nailed it, Mary Helen! 🥰 What better way, indeed!

Love Don Williams, and Glory Days is my favorite Springsteen song. Reminds me of Springfield, and their Glory days of basketball. I only hope my grandson is enjoying his Senior year and not stressing out from the pressure. He has been wrestling since kindergarten, and sometimes think he is burning out.

      Thanks, Pat 🥰
There really was a time back in the late 50s and early 60s when the Cosmos were a force to be reckoned with. Riverside was sold out so many times back then. Today it is the girls who are getting all the glory.
Wrestling as long as your grandson has to be a difficult burden, not only physically but mentally. He is to be congratulated for his stellar high school career!

Yes, it has been a long road-sad that these kids lost a whole year of wrestling due to Covid. HIs goal of having 100 wins (which his older brother had), will not happen. Still has a great chance of being state champion, bu that surely comes with a whole lot of pressure.

I wish him the very best. You must be so very proud. ❤
