Back with another snapshot into your musical past … and at 32 minutes, it’s much shorter than yesterday’s marathon!
We have #1 songs on this date, Doo-Wop classics, an important date for both The Beatles and The Rolling Stones, and a lot more, including a tribute to the late Glenn Frey.

Elegants – Dion & The Belmonts
Beatles – Rolling Stones
Cowsills – Gordon Lightfoot
Yes I remember when we met. How could I forget? A Cub Scouts meeting with my Mother & brothers. The following year I was transferred from North to East School, knew more of the boys than girls to begin with. A memorable year in many ways. Ted learned a version of “running bare thru the bushes, dodging bullets all the way” when he was playing. We had a friend that always ended his shows with “take this job.” Ted played with him at the camp we went to instead of class reunions. Will Lee have green hair again this year? Great songs today, enjoying all of this medley. Thanks Ray 🙂 🙂 Lee & Ted
Lee, you have the most amazing memory I have ever seen! I have always thought mine was very good but it pales in comparison with yours!
If Lee has green hair again this year (I bet she does), I won’t get a chance to see it. I won’t be attending the reunion due to medical issues.
Did you call this a wickedly wonderful Wednesday? It sure was, and still is. I may have to play this one again a little later. Just loved all the songs things I have a pile of even for God knows how long. Running bear now that’s an oldie! And Johnny Paycheck song take this job!! So much fun this went by very quickly. Loved it, another of your great efforts. Thanks, Ray For the nod to Glenn Frey! The Eagles are always my favorite forever and ever. You’re the best! 🥰
Thanks, Sandy 🥰
If you enjoyed the music, then it REALLY is a Wickedly Wonderful Wednesday! 🙂
Great music! For some reason I love the Doo-Wop almost as well as the Rock. Must have been played at my house in the early days by my parents. I certainly didn’t pull them out of my record collection.
Thanks, Jim! I didn’t enjoy Doo-Wop when I was younger, either. I feel completely different today. Hey, maybe I’ll whip up a “nothing but Doo-Wop” medley soon!
That would be great. Please add a small amount of history in. Like the dates and what things might have been going on …post WWII, Korean War, Colleges growing. Women beginning to attend colleges more…
I don’t have Rosa-Lee’s memory, but I think it was in school and I’m so happy I did get to meet/know you. Got a late start, but really enjoyed listening when I got back home. Thanks and have a great day!
Thank you, Nancy. I feel the same way about you! ❤️
It doesn’t matter when you play the music. As long as you enjoy it, that’s what is important to me. 🥰
It was true love
At debut the Stones seemed to be better musicians than the Beatles…it was perennially contested
Reunion won’t be the same w/out you, but I get it
Peace, love ,happiness and everything your heart desires
Thanks, Mary Helen 🥰
Great sax on that Glenn Frey opener! I have always been a Beatles kind of guy over the Stones. Maybe they were more “likable” and there’s little doubt their music sounded much cleaner while the Stones recordings in the early days weren’t produced as well. Too muddy, in my opinion.
I’ll miss seeing you at the reunion but a dead left arm and the need for a cane when I walk doesn’t make for a pleasant time.
Peace, love , happiness and everything YOUR heart desires!
Loved this medley, Ray, especially Glenn Frey and the Eagles. Back in the day Miami Vice was one of my favorite shows. I was really mad when he left the show. Did they kill him off? my memory is not as good as Rosa-Lee’s!! Anyhow, peace, love, etc. to you Ray.
Thanks, Pat 🥰
As far as I know, Glenn was a “one and done” with Miami Vice. I’m very glad you enjoyed the music. 🙂
Peace, love, happiness and anything else YOUR heart desires!
