Another FriYay Medley!

TGIF (Thank God It’s FriYay)!

I thought it might be a good idea to get back here before Dylan steals my job! He was outstanding yesterday and I promise he will be back many, many times.

We’re wrapping up the week with a wide assortment of music, primarily from the 60s but there is also a classic from the 50s, along with a couple of 70s hit songs, a forgotten 45, and a rare “gem” from 1967!

I hope you enjoy the music and I hope you have a safe and wonderful weekend!

      Happy FriYay, Mary Helen.
I hope everyone is extending thanks and respect to all veterans. They certainly deserve that!
What I love about Donovan’s simple song is that within the medium of a disposable pop song that thousands of people have heard over the years, we find a deeply profound Buddhist teaching that within two and half minutes manages to offer more insights than a large volume of books could ever hope to.

      Thanks, Penny!
The Senator Bobby inclusion was something of a joke. I can’t believe it reached #20!
I have learned over the years that anything by Neil Diamond is always well received.
Have a wonderful and safe weekend!

What a fabulous assortment of music! I might have to listen to this again later today. Keeping a close eye on the weather right now, with hurricane Nicole powering up through the mid Atlantic states and into the north. This was a great occupier of my mind, listening to all these tunes. Some of which I just haven’t heard in eons. Great job, as always and a wonderful way to end up the week! I truly love the ending song coming to America! Ray you’re the best! 🥰

I have had friends from Florida up to North Carolina on my mind today. I do know that Fred is safe, so that’s a big relief. I pray you come through this safe and sound!

Is it just me or does the Senator Bobby song sound a lot like Blue Christmas, by Porky Pig ??

There are certainly some similarities, Rose. Blue Christmas was the brainchild of Denny Brownlee, while Bill Minkin was the “voice” on Wild Thing.
