1965 Vintage Medley / Part 2

And so we begin. This is going to be a memory-packed week of great music!
Instead of playing a selection of #1 songs on Friday, 1965 had so many of them that beginning today, we’re going to play them all … in chronological order.
Today’s medley starts with the #1 song on January 1 and takes us through March 20.
By the time we’re finished with the #1’s from 1965 on Thursday, you’ll hear all five top of the Billboard Hot 100 hits by the Beatles, four by the Supremes, two each from the Rolling Stones, Herman’s Hermits and the Byrds, and single entries from 13 other artists.
But there’s more because we’ll still have time on Friday to play a medley of songs that came close to the top but didn’t quite make it.
Yeah, it was one hell of a year for music fans. I hope you enjoy the memories.

I can tell you’re excited about this week’s music by your intro … the Beatles, Supremes, and Temptations were all larger than life groups and we were so lucky to be a part of that music explosion …. add in the Righteous Brothers, Gary Lewis and Petula Clark and it was definitely a recipe for a great mix. Must say I love the voices of the Righteous Brothers …. funny this one now reminds me of Top Gun …. (probably making you gag). The Temptations will always be a favorite of mine. Great listening this morning – Rock this sunny Day my friend … yes it’s going to be a great week!

      Thanks, Barbara 🙂
I’ll have you know I enjoyed Top Gun very much (so no gagging from me) 😉
Yes, I have always thought 1965 was an exceptional year for music so if I come across as excited about it, I plead guilty 🙂
      Rock This Unbelievably Beautiful Day!

Day 2-great songs. My Girl, is a favorite. I was a Freshman at UVM, feeling a little lonely(even though my sister was a Senior, living in the same dorm as me). Very much a minnow in a big pond, but then as now, music was a great pick-me-up.

I don’t know anyone who doesn’t love that Temptations song.
Music is the best way to recall the important events in our lives. 🙂
