It’s an annual tradition. I leave in May and come back in September. Today is May 20th – and I have already stayed about three weeks longer than I intended – so this seems like a good time to finally go on vacation.
I’m leaving with a 20-song medley of summer songs featuring Billy Stewart, The Beach Boys (several times), Gary Lewis & The Playboys, Jan & Dean, Lovin’ Spoonful, Seals & Crofts, Sheryl Crow, Johnny Rivers, Chicago, Sly & The Family Stone, Bryan Adams, Jimmy Buffett, Katrina & The Waves, Chad & Jeremy, and a closing song by Status Quo which is actually more of a love song than summer specific, but it mentions “margarita time” and “summer time”. It’s upbeat and bouncy and … oh hell, no excuses, I love it so I threw it in! If the medley is too long to listen to at one time, you have all summer to do it! 🙂
I will pop in from time to time – on my grandson’s birthday in June, for example – but I have new eyes and I’m going to be using them to look at the great outdoors! Until we meet again, remember that all the older medleys can always be found in the menu under ‘Smile Songs Medleys’ (makes sense, huh?) 🙂
Play nice, keep the political bickering to a minimum (because it never changes anything), and enjoy your summer!
